Lake Fork - August Fishing Report
The lake is currently .68' below full pool with temps ranging 87-92 degrees with the water clarity improving.
Given string of hot days the temps have driven the big fish deep and the crankbait bite is on. We have also caught suspended fish on C-rigs. The early bite can be productive on Zara Spooks.
The White Bass are best fished in the evenings using flutter spoons as schools set up on main lake points. Once you find these schools you will also find black bass, so be ready to move on these fish as well.
Having good electronics and a thorough understanding of these units is a must for fishing deep water structure.
